SONNENKIND is a member of the Eurasian Artists Association (More about the EAA.). What ideology/religion/worldview do You follow?
„Sonnenkind“ in English means „Sun child“. This has a lot of meanings. It has some positive, still ironic hint to the old Hippie music scene and was thought to not fit into the typically martial sounding pattern used in right-wing music. The other side is it hints to ideas of traditionalism and solar culture.
My worldview... not to explain in simple ideological terms. Beginning with religion, I basically believe, that there some kind of central spiritual power I use to call God, which is pure light and beauty from which we came as unconscious soul-seeds. In our inner soul is a longing to unite again with God, and through many incarnations we can destroy our souls or make our souls grow and become more and more beautiful so that we finally will come back to the source, but this time as conscious individuals, which is the ultimate goal, the conscious vision of God's eternal beauty.
If we come to society, I think of something truly humane, not in the fake hyperindividualistic sense, but a society which offers people a life in dignity, with a high amount of freedom within the security of a healthy tradition, nation, family. My idea of a state is something like a reworked state of guilds („Ständestaat“) with meritocratic and basic democratic elements. In foreign policy matters I'm close to traditional anti-imperialism and I also support the idea of a Eurasian alliance, even if I prefer a loose collaboration instead of one giant state.
Which collaborations were/are the most interesting and important to You?
I worked with Porta Vittoria, TSIDMZ, Qvercvs, Front Sonore, Anastasia Velikanova, Boris Nad, La Derniere Attaque, Uwe Nolte and others. I guess among my favourites are the two songs I sang or spoke for TSIDMZ („War song“ and „Ost und West“) with their haunting atmosphere. An awesome work was the new interpretation of a Vietnamese chanson by Trinh Cong Son, for which I wrote German words, Porta Vittoria did with me („Die Brücke“). A very unique style, like Industrial-Ethno-Pop. Of great importance in recent times was, when Uwe Nolte proposed me to interprete one of his poems, and the result („Flechte Blumen dir ins Haar“) turned out really beautiful.
What music do You create for SONNENKIND? How would You describe it?
I try to create some authentic and soulful contemporary German folk music, open to different elements which I consider fitting from case to case.
I have released two albums, „Völkerfrühling“ in 2005 and „Eulenspiegels Wiederkehr“ in 2013.
What if the world was without music?
Maybe a place to leave...
There are many so called sound artists, what do You think about them?
Art can be at best sophisticated and authentic, primitive but authentic, or fake but sophisticated, but if it is primitive and fake like most contemporary charts music, I wouldn't call it art.
What about neofolk/industrial scene? Is it becoming a trend?
Actually I do not care much about scenes and subcultures, though I listen to a lot of music. There are great acts and it's a trend, too.

Should computer be used in folk music?
Why not? An endless number of bands use electronic/digital as well as hand-made sounds.
What do You know about Lithuania? What Lithuanian musicians do You value most?
One of the Baltic states. Once united with Poland. A long time occupied by the Soviet Union, now used by the West as part of the anti-Russian front. To me a strange language.
Great folk and neofolk music scene, I like bands as Gyvata, Liberte, Sedula, Žalvarinis. Also some metal acts: Obtest, Ha Lela, Poccolus, Dissection.
What inspires You?
Personal stuff, beauty, spirituality.
What are You working on right now?
I'm at the moment working on new music very slowly only due to lots of work. But I write lyrics and sing vocals for the album of Prog-Ram, a Progressive Rock project by Alex of Uruk-Hai. Also there is the idea of a cooperation with the German composer Christian Glowatzki and Avatngarde act Stern des Bundes, but at the moment I can't promise anything; let's see.
Thank You.
