Das-Kollektiv.net: Important is only that it´s music, simply music!

What/who is the mysterious Das-Kollektiv.Net?

The main idea is to connect two things: a mixture of opportunities and the possibility to go develope the music instead of only repeating what already worked. So there are about 10 musicians who had been involved over the years. They sing, they write, they play synthesizer, saxophone, guitar and much more. This mixture is „Das-Kollektiv.Net“.

What albums are Your favourite?

Each album stands alone as a kind of picture of „Das-Kollektiv.Net“ at the time when the we did the music. But naturally we have favorite songs on each album. So as „Grau“ & „Keine Vison“ from „DwbhkN“ (2008), „Wut“, „Sieh Deine Seele“, „Splitter“ & „Letzter Zeuge“ from „Eichenriegel“ (2009) and „Lauf“ & „Sieben“ from „Nahton“ (2013). Now actually all the five songs from „Android“ give the most authentic impression you can get from „Das-Kollektiv.Net“.

Is every sound a piece of music?

Without sound there is no music, without all the individual parts there is no Das-Kollektiv.Net!

What is and what is not a Sound Art?

No music could ever be „THE MUSIC“ - so we think that everybody who makes music does something very special and gives something very personal. What´s Art is in the ears of the audience.

What do You think about relations between the old art and computer art? Are they compatible?

The 70s & 80s of the last century were doubtless the last time when really new kind of instruments and with these a new kind of cool music was born – we are thankful to have the chance to use several possibilities of electronic soundmaking in our days, including the technologie, computers are offering.

What do You think about thousands of neofolk/industrial/ambient/tribal/electroacoustic/avangarde etc. bands/projects? Is it a kind of trend, or just a tendency forwards better music?

Hey! People love music, people love making music – so let them do so! The more music there is – the more love, peace and happiness will come to all of us! It´s not important whether this is a trend or something. Important is only that it´s music, simply music!

What do You know about Lithuania?

What we know about Lithuania is, that there is a modern, open young and at the same time adult country with people who prefer to develope the future than to live in the past – that´s what we like, too!

What inspires You most?

Like (hopefully) most of human being we are inspired by life itself. But of course our music includes elements of other musicians and their music. For example we really love Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Anne Clar, J.S. Bach, 80s-sound, ...

What are You working on right now?

This will be our little secret - yet ;)

What does Your band name mean to You?

As we explained we are a growing and varying conglometare of musicians, but we work together in a spirit of making music.
